A childhood obsession is often a significant event, followed by a long period of maturation. For Guy Allen, the starting point is in 1983, when he experiences a visceral thrill at the passage of Hannu Mikkola's Audi Quattro during the RAC Rally. Following ten years studying car magazines, then drawing in a school of art, he finally start a brilliant career as a graphic designer.

In 2004, the automotive virus, whose presence had been discreet, comes back to the foreground and Guy Allen attempt a first foray into automotive illustration. Then another. And another one. And then everything comes together and with the strong support of specialized publishers and passionate customers, the artist has finally the opportunity to experiment and develop his own style.

And this style brings us back to the obsessions of childhood, where each car is endowed with a particular character, able to arouse the most diverse emotions: the visual drama of a Lamborghini Countach, the cuteness of a Fiat 500, or the raw energy of Mikkola’s Quattro.
