December 28th of 1990, a little boy was born in Northern California to a loving family. He grew up as most boys do, Hot Wheels, action figures, and Saturday morning cartoons. School was something to be done but not particularly enjoyable. Throughout his life though, there was one thing that was always there, a subtle whisper in his ear, “Porsche”.

I am Tyler Eliason, even as a child this brand has always brought me joy. In a little journal I kept, when I was about 5 years old, there was an entry that reads “Mom got me a Porsche Hot Wheels, I am happy.” And that just about sums up the beginning of this long relationship with Porsche.

Eventually I attended college for a few years and never graduated; instead, I found my way to a trade school for automotive technicians. While I was there I was accepted into a Porsche program called the Porsche Training Apprenticeship Program. This is where I was truly immersed in the brand. At 7am, every weekday, I was taught how to work on these beautiful vehicles. I was removing engines within one week of starting the program. Any time not spent learning how to fix the cars, I was studying the brands history and founding principles, tradition and innovation, design and functionality, performance and everyday usability, exclusivity and social acceptance.

When I completed the Porsche Training Apprenticeship Program, I was hired at a Porsche dealership where I worked for the next 3 years, learning more and more about the brand I had chosen to spend the rest of my career with. I am now working at an independent repair shop located in North Carolina, still working on Porsche, along with a few other brands.
