The Citroën 2CV 6 Charleston began as a limited edition launched in October 1980 at the Paris Motor Show, with 8,000 units produced. Its success led to its permanent integration into the regular lineup in July 1981. Based on the 2CV 6 (602 cc flat-twin engine producing 29 hp DIN), it was distinguished by a more elegant presentation: two-tone bodywork, specific upholstery, and round headlights, embodying the "top of the range" for the 2CV at the end of its production run.
In 1982, the Charleston received new colors (notably Helios Yellow/Black in addition to Delage Red/Black), updated equipment including front disc brakes, a new choke lever with an indicator light, and a windshield wiper motor borrowed from the Dyane 6. The 2CV Charleston remained in the catalog until the end of 2CV production in 1990; the last 2CV to roll off the Mangualde assembly line was a gray 2CV 6 Charleston, making it one of the most iconic variants of the model.

Made of die-cast metal, the model features the typical 2CV silhouette (separate fenders, ribbed hood, fixed opening canvas top) and incorporates the Charleston's distinctive elements: two-tone paint, round headlights (often with chrome surrounds depending on the period), light gray wheels, and specific badging.
Like other Solido 1/18 scale models, this 2CV Charleston features opening front doors, steerable front wheels, and a detailed interior: bench seat, patterned upholstery (diamond/houndstooth depending on the interpretation), a slim steering wheel, and minimalist instrumentation, all in keeping with the spirit of the original. This miniature is a perfect addition to a display case dedicated to popular French cars, classic Citroëns, or icons of the 70s and 80s, particularly for illustrating the highly publicized end of the 2CV's production run.
