The Ferrari 12Cilindri is the naturally aspirated V12 coupe unveiled in 2024, designed as the spiritual successor to Maranello's great front-engined GTs and directly inspired aesthetically by the 365 GTB/4 "Daytona." It features a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 engine delivering 830 hp to the rear wheels, with styling that modernizes the Daytona's design cues (long hood, sloping rear, taut lines) while adapting them to current aerodynamic requirements.
The 365 GTB/4 Daytona Competizione entered by the French importer Charles Pozzi bore the number 39 at the 1972 24 Hours of Le Mans and distinguished itself by finishing 5th overall and winning its GT category, with Jean-Claude Andruet and Claude Ballot-Léna at the wheel. This competition version, derived from the road-going GT, received specific modifications (weight reduction, bodywork adapted to regulations, engine boosted to approximately 430 hp) and established itself as a benchmark for Ferrari GT endurance racing in the early 1970s.
