The Ferrari 250 GT SWB (Short Wheelbase, or "Passo Corto") emerged in the late 1950s as an evolution of the 250 GT, featuring a shortened wheelbase to enhance agility and handling in GT racing. Powered by the carbureted 3.0-liter Colombo V12—producing between 240 and 280 hp depending on the road or competition specification—it excelled on the track (Tour de France Auto, Goodwood, Le Mans) while remaining a usable road car.
The 1961 model year represents one of the 250 GT SWB’s most iconic periods, marked by numerous GT victories and limited production numbers that make it one of today’s most sought-after classic Ferrari coupés. The red "road" version with a black interior epitomizes the image of the stylish, high-performance Italian *gran turismo* of the early 1960s.
