Unveiled in April 2025, the Ferrari 296 Speciale A is the open-top variant of the 296 Speciale, which itself is derived from the 296 GTB. The "A" stands for *Aperta*. Its retractable hardtop allows for open-air enjoyment of the mechanicals while retaining a coupé-like silhouette when closed. Ferrari adapted the chassis, suspension, and aerodynamics specifically for this Spider version, rather than simply removing the roof from the 296 Speciale.
Its 2,992 cc twin-turbo V6 engine, featuring a 120° bank angle, develops 700 hp; an electric motor boosts the combined output to 880 hp—50 hp more than the 296 GTS. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. Ferrari quotes a 0–100 km/h time of 2.8 seconds, 0–200 km/h in 7.3 seconds, and a top speed exceeding 330 km/h. The 7.45 kWh battery also allows for a range of up to 25 km in electric mode.
