The 2023 Mercedes-AMG GT 63 4MATIC+ represents the second generation of the AMG GT, unveiled in August 2023. Unlike the original AMG GT—a strict two-seater—this new generation adopts a more versatile layout featuring two occasional rear seats, while retaining a low-slung coupé silhouette, a long hood, and a particularly muscular rear end. Built on a technical platform shared with the Mercedes-AMG SL, it comes standard with the variable AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive system and a nine-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT transmission.
The GT 63 is powered by the 3,982 cc AMG M177 twin-turbo V8. Assembled according to the "One Man, One Engine" principle, this engine produces 585 hp (430 kW) between 5,500 and 6,500 rpm, along with a peak torque of 800 Nm. Power is distributed to all four wheels via the fully variable all-wheel-drive system, which can prioritize the rear axle when conditions allow.
Equipped with the Race Start system, the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 4MATIC+ accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and reaches a top speed of 315 km/h. It combines this performance with the dimensions of a grand tourer—measuring approximately 4.73 meters in length—and a character more oriented toward grand touring than the original AMG GT. Nevertheless, its Panamericana grille with vertical slats, wide air intakes, flared rear fenders, and diffuser underscore its high-performance nature.
