The 992-generation Porsche 911 GT3 R is the customer-racing GT3 model designed for major international endurance races. It features a rear-mounted, naturally aspirated 4.2-liter flat-six engine, rear-wheel drive, a six-speed sequential gearbox, and an aerodynamics package developed to meet the demands of the GT3 category. While its output exceeds 550 hp in unrestricted trim, actual race power is adjusted via the Balance of Performance (BoP) regulations. With its adjustable chassis, large rear wing, diffuser, and aerodynamic features designed to stabilize the car in high-speed corners, it serves as a benchmark machine for Porsche customer teams.
At the 2025 Suzuka 1000km, the No. 7 Absolute Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R was driven by official Porsche drivers Kévin Estre, Laurens Vanthoor, and Patrick Pilet. The trio finished second overall after six and a half hours of racing on the Japanese circuit, marking Porsche’s best result upon the event's return to Suzuka after a six-year hiatus.
