The Porsche 956 is the Group C prototype launched in 1982, featuring an aluminum monocoque chassis, a 2.65-liter twin-turbo flat-six derived from the 936, and aerodynamics that exploited ground effect to maximize downforce and fuel efficiency. It quickly established itself as the benchmark car in endurance racing, winning all the major races of the early 1980s, including four consecutive victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans between 1982 and 1985.

In 1983, the presence of numerous privately entered 956s (Joest, Sorga SA, Fitzpatrick, Obermaier, etc.) further solidified Porsche's dominance in the World Endurance Championship. At the 1983 Silverstone 1000km, a round of the WEC, victory went to the Rothmans factory 956 #2 driven by Derek Bell and Stefan Bellof, while the Sorga SA #8 956 of Bob Wollek and Stefan Johansson finished second, securing a Porsche one-two finish. Wollek and Johansson also distinguished themselves throughout the season with several podium finishes driving privately entered 956s, confirming the potential of these chassis outside of official teams.

The Werk83 1/18 scale miniature reproduces the 956 KH with its very low and sleek silhouette: flat nose, teardrop-shaped central cockpit, and long rear end topped by a large rectangular rear wing. The open front wheel arches, sculpted flanks, and small side fins are clearly defined, reflecting the ground-effect aerodynamic work characteristic of Group C.

The livery of the No. 8 Silverstone 1983 car combines a white base with red (Marlboro-style) areas and Sorga/sponsor markings, with the number 8 displayed on the hood, doors, and rear wing. Racing wheels fitted with slicks fill the wheel arches, while details such as the faired headlights, roof vents, and exhaust outlets are finely molded, giving the model a presence true to the Wollek/Johansson 956.
