Summary:

Since 1994, the Petersen Automotive Museum stands out as one of the largest automotive museums in the world. On the occasion of 70 years of Porsche, an exhibition of the most important road and racing cars of the German brand is presented to the public: the Porsche effect.

Established with the effective support of the Stuttgart Porsche Museum, the exhibition offers, in addition to the original Porsche models, artifacts and historical documents of highest class. Among the legendary vehicles exhibited, one can find one of the two existing type 64, from the Berlin-Rome race of 1938, a 906, a 919 Hybrid, a 901, a 964 Flachbau X83, a 959 rally racer, the 935 K3 victorious at Le Mans, the 917 K Gulf, the 962 Jägermeister and even a few rare 4-door prototypes.

For the very first time, Porsche has made available 356, 917 and 956 engines, Ferdinand Porsche's passport and drawings for the development of the 911, numerous historical images and posters, in total more than 50 small items from the collections of the Porsche Museum and to better understand the evolution and specificities of the cars of the brand.

" What we see is one of the most significant collections of our sports cars and display artifacts outside of the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart" said Klaus Zellmer, CEO of Porsche Cars North America in front of some 400 guests, including Tommy Kendall, Hurley Haywood, Jeff Zwart, Patrick Dempsey and Chad McQueen, gathered just before the public opening. And to note all along the exhibition that Porsche DNA and emotions are still there, from the 356 to the most recent 911.
