Tous les ingrédients sont réunis pour un bien précieux : le rêve. Dans un premier temps, les organisateurs sélectionnent soigneusement des lieux connus pour leur calme et leur volupté, comme Longchamp, Deauville, Cannes, La Baule, Vichy, Nice, Enghien, où se déplaceront dans un silence feutré de dispendieuses automobiles, dont les élégantes silhouettes doivent tout aux plus grands noms de la carrosserie de l'époque. Atout supplémentaire, ces apparitions sont présentées par de jolies femmes recrutées (pour la plupart) au sein des pages du Bottin mondain ; elles se parents de toilettes signées des maîtres de la haute couture parisienne, afin de tenter la meilleure symbiose possible avec les machines qu'elles accompagnent. Bien entendu ces tenues affirment également notre savoir-faire national dans ce domaine. Mais sans vouloir nullement minimiser aucun des rôles importants joués par tous ces acteurs participant à la fête, c'est bien la reine automobile que les spectateurs médusés viennent admirer. Cet ouvrage n'a pour unique but que de vous faire participer à un délicieux voyage dans le temps."
