The BMW Alpina B7 Turbo Coupé is based on the BMW 6 Series E24 coupé (630CSi and later 635CSi) and represents one of the most iconic Alpina models of the 1980s, combining luxurious grand touring with top-level performance. Starting with the 3.0-liter and later 3.5-liter inline six-cylinder engine, Alpina added a KKK turbocharger and a complete overhaul (engine management, cylinder head, cooling), boosting power to approximately 300 hp for the B7 and later 330 hp, and up to 500–512 Nm of torque for the B7 S and B7/2 versions.
Produced in very limited numbers between 1978 and 1987 (approximately 130 units across all B7 E24 versions), the B7 Turbo Coupé boasted top-tier performance for its time: 0 to 100 km/h in around 6–6.5 seconds and a top speed of over 260 km/h, while retaining the comfort and premium presentation of the 6 Series Coupé. Visually, it is distinguished by its Alpina spoilers, specific wheels, and the iconic Alpina stripe livery, making it a highly sought-after model today.
