Real Model – Williams FW14B n° 5 – World Championship 1992

The Williams FW14B-Renault is one of the most dominant and sophisticated single-seaters in Formula 1 history. An evolution of the 1991 FW14, it was designed by Patrick Head and Adrian Newey’s team for the 1992 season. Its carbon-fiber and Kevlar monocoque houses a naturally aspirated 3.5-liter Renault V10 engine—producing approximately 700 hp—mounted mid-rear and mated to a six-speed semi-automatic transverse gearbox.

It is distinguished above all by its electronic arsenal: computer-controlled active hydraulic suspension, traction control, a semi-automatic gearbox, onboard telemetry, and—late in the season—an anti-lock braking system.

Driven by Nigel Mansell (car No. 5), the FW14B won nine out of sixteen Grands Prix; the other car, driven by Riccardo Patrese, secured an additional victory. Mansell clinched his first and only World Drivers' Championship title at the Hungarian Grand Prix—with five races still to go—while Williams-Renault dominated the Constructors' Championship with 164 points.

This 1/18 scale Werk83 model replicates Nigel Mansell’s No. 5 Williams FW14B-Renault, featuring the Canon Williams Renault livery from the 1992 season. Bearing the reference number W18065001, it pays tribute to the car in which the British driver won the Formula 1 World Championship. It faithfully reproduces the blue, white, and yellow bodywork, the narrow nose cone displaying the No. 5, the sculpted sidepods, the air intake above the driver, the large rear wing, and the Goodyear slick tires. The livery features the team's historic partners—including Canon, Renault, Camel, Elf, Labatt’s, and Magneti Marelli—just as they appeared on the original car.
