The Story – Jean-Pierre Beltoise
Jean-Pierre Beltoise is one of the leading figures in the revival of French motorsport. A former motorcycle champion, he made his Formula 1 debut in 1966 and competed in 86 Grands Prix until 1974, primarily with Matra and then BRM. He remains most famous for his masterful victory in the rain at the 1972 Monaco Grand Prix driving a BRM, his only World Championship win but a defining moment for an entire generation of French drivers. A versatile driver, he also distinguished himself in endurance racing and touring cars, before becoming a committed ambassador for road safety and driver education.
