The Story – Jo Siffert

Under the affectionate nickname of Jo Siffert, or Seppi, Joseph Siffert (1936-1971) embodied a form of perseverance and success in the world of motor racing. Born into a modest family in Fribourg's Lower Town – his father was a garage owner – Jo Siffert began competing first on motorcycles. In 1959, he became Swiss champion in the 350cc category. The following year, he took up car racing while continuing to work. He started a used car sales company, which allowed him to finance his passion for automobiles, albeit with difficulty. Jo Siffert dedicated a large part of his career to endurance racing, achieving numerous victories including the 12 Hours of Sebring in 1968 and the 1000 km of Nürburgring in 1968 and 1969. He also started 96 Formula One World Championship Grands Prix between 1962 and 1971. Jo Siffert is one of only three Swiss drivers, along with Clay Regazzoni and Emmanuel de Graffenried, to have won a Formula One race.

On October 24, 1971, he was killed at the wheel of his car during a non-championship Formula One race at Brands Hatch.

The product – Warson Motors Jo Siffert 917 Sky Blue Polo Shirt

This polo shirt pays tribute to Jo Siffert and his endurance racing exploits at the wheel of the Porsche 917, notably the 917's first major success in 1969 and the World Sportscar Championship title in the early 1970s. The Siffert-917 duo remains associated with Porsche's golden age in sports prototypes and a distinctive racing aesthetic, featuring white, green, and period liveries.

The Warson Motors Jo Siffert 917 Sky Blue polo shirt is a men's 100% cotton polo with a modern cut, quilted shoulders, and red piping on the sleeves for a distinctly vintage racing feel. It prominently displays the Jo Siffert name, markings inspired by the 917 and the 1970 endurance championship, making it a striking piece that is both a historical tribute and easily wearable with jeans or chinos.
