Real Model – Fiat 131 Abarth n° 12 – Monte Carlo Rally 1980

The Fiat 131 Abarth Rally is the competition version of the Fiat 131 sedan, developed by Abarth for Group 4. Approximately 400 road-legal examples were produced between 1976 and 1978. Equipped with a 2.0-liter, 16-valve, four-cylinder engine with mechanical fuel injection, producing between 225 and 245 hp and weighing less than 1,020 kg, it enabled Fiat to win three World Rally Championship manufacturers' titles (1977, 1978, 1980) and two drivers' titles (Markku Alén in 1978, Walter Röhrl in 1980 – FIA World Cup and World Rally Championship).

At the 1980 Monte Carlo Rally, the 131 Abarth distinguished itself notably with the victory of Walter Röhrl (who launched his campaign towards the title) but also with the participation of other crews, including the French female crew Michèle Mouton / Annie Arrii on the No. 12, who achieved a fine performance against extremely high competition. The 1980 Monte Carlo Rally remains in history as one of the great demonstrations of strength for the 131 Abarth, a symbol of the last glorious years of Group 4 before the arrival of Group B.

Miniature – Fiat 131 Abarth n° 12 Monte Carlo Rally 1980 1/18 Solido (S1806007)

This 1/18 scale Solido miniature reproduces the Fiat 131 Abarth entered in the 1980 Monte Carlo Rally with number 12 for the crew of Michèle Mouton and Annie Arrii, with its rally livery faithfully reproduced. Made of die-cast metal, the model has the usual features of Solido 1/18 scale models: a zamac body, two opening front doors, and steerable front wheels, offering a balance between display and handling.

Miniature – Fiat 131 Abarth No. 12 Monte Carlo Rally 1980 1/18 Solido (S1806007) The miniature replicates the typical silhouette of the 131 Abarth Rally (widened 2-door sedan, front and rear spoilers, flared fenders, and specific wheels) and the exact livery of the No. 12 car from the 1980 Monte Carlo Rally: colors, numbers, event decals, and the names of the co-drivers on the windows. This 1/18 scale 131 Abarth is a choice piece for a display case dedicated to rally legends, Michèle Mouton's cars, or Group 4 cars from the late 1970s and early 1980s.
