The 1967 Shelby Mustang GT500 is the high-performance version of the Ford Mustang prepared by Carroll Shelby, introduced to offer a more powerful alternative to the GT350 by housing a large "big block" V8 under the hood. Based on the 1967 Mustang fastback, it features a 428 ci (7.0-liter) "Police Interceptor" V8, rated at approximately 355 hp SAE (often underestimated), paired with either a 4-speed manual or automatic transmission, resulting in top-tier performance for its time.
