The No. 59 McLaren F1 GTR entered by the Kokusai Kaihatsu Racing team produced one of the biggest upsets in the history of the 24 Hours of Le Mans by winning on its debut in 1995. In hellish weather conditions, the driver trio comprising Frenchman Yannick Dalmas, Finn J.J. Lehto and Japanese driver Masanori Sekiya triumphed in the overall standings, enabling this exceptional production-derived GT, powered by a melodious BMW V12, to beat the prototypes in the top category.
Available in 1/43 scale from Ixo (ref. LM1995), this superb replica celebrates this historic victory with its distinctive dark grey metallic livery in the colours of the sponsor ‘Ueno Clinic’. The model faithfully captures the low, aggressive silhouette of the British supercar, accurately reproducing the imposing rear wing, the roof vent and the black five-spoke racing wheels.
