The Porsche 968 Turbo S is a highly limited series derived from the 968; developed in 1993 to homologate the 968 Turbo RS for the GT Cup, only a handful of units were produced (between 14 and 16, depending on the source). Based on the 968’s transaxle chassis (front engine, rear-mounted gearbox), it features a 3.0-liter 4-cylinder engine supercharged by a KKK turbo running at 1 bar of boost—an engine derived from the 944 Turbo.
The M44/60 engine develops approximately 305 hp and 500–501 Nm of torque at around 3,000 rpm, delivering power exclusively to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission. This results in a top speed of around 280 km/h and a 0–100 km/h time of approximately 5 seconds. Lighter and more hardcore than the standard 968—thanks to the removal of certain equipment, a lowered chassis, and upgraded brakes—the Turbo S is today one of the rarest and most sought-after road-going Porsches in the transaxle family.

The 1:18 scale GT Spirit model of the yellow 968 Turbo S captures the 968 coupé’s silhouette—long hood, raked windshield, fastback roofline, and glass hatch—while incorporating specific Turbo S details such as a more open front bumper, additional air vents, and 18-inch Speedline wheels. The "Speed Yellow" paintwork—a color often associated with one of the few real-life examples—accentuates the slightly flared fenders, adjustable rear spoiler, and muscular stance of this transaxle coupé. GT Spirit uses a sealed resin body, allowing for accurate proportions and detailed rendering of the wheels, brakes, closed pop-up headlights, logos, and "Turbo S" badging. Visible through the windows, the interior features the sports seats, dashboard, and instrumentation typical of the 968, rounding out a model that beautifully showcases this exceptionally rare front-engined Porsche turbo.
