This model is not a standard production Porsche. It is what is known as a 'one-off' or a very limited custom-coachbuilt series. In 1953, Porsche was still a young brand. They sold rolling chassis to external coachbuilders to create unique designs. This model is the result of a collaboration with the famous Italian coachbuilder Ghia. What defines its legend today is its 'ghost car' status. Some of these Ghias disappeared for decades before being rediscovered and restored, further fueling the myth.
