The Salzburg livery traces its origins to the 1970 24 Hours of Le Mans, where the red-and-white No. 23 Porsche 917 K—entered by the semi-works team Porsche Konstruktionen Salzburg, founded by Ferdinand Piëch—secured the Stuttgart brand's first-ever overall victory. Driven by Hans Herrmann and Richard Attwood, this 917 K won with a five-lap lead over the Porsche 917 Martini, marking the start of a success story that now totals 19 Le Mans victories. More than 50 years later, Porsche honors this legacy by offering this iconic red-and-white livery as an Exclusive Manufaktur option on the facelifted 911 GT3 (Type 992.2), unveiled in October 2024. This generation retains the 4.0L flat-six engine producing 510 hp, capable of propelling the car from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds.
