Mrs. Dick was lucky. Her husband, Porsche importer in Texas just offered her as a Christmas present this yet unreleased model. Until then, all cars that Ms Dick had had only 2 doors: Ferrari, Maserati, Porsche, etc... However, for practical reasons, this lady wanted a four-door. "Never mind," said Mr. William Dick, "what women want ..." and he complied. After various contacts with European coachbuilders, whose ideas did not fit his desires, his choice fell on fellow: he instructed Chuck Pelly to realize the design of this elongated 911 and Californian D. Trouman and Tom Barnes of production. These began a year to make this sedan whose cost was barely higher than that of a Rolls Royce Silver Shadow. The choice of Mr. Dick fell on the drawing rather than those of the Italian car because the generous lines met the well-known Porsche silhouette. This new sedan measured 52 cm more in length, located entirely within the wheelbase. Antagonists rear doors gave access to spacious seats fitted with identical seats in the front seats. The trunk was covered with a walnut flooring for luggage. Although some have criticized humor with a resemblance to a dachshund, we must recognize that the aesthetics of the 911 was preserved, including the harmony of the six side windows.
