Over twenty-five years separate the P'6780 Diver from Porsche Design's very first diving watch. Waterproof up to 1,000 meters deep, this professional instrument is distinguished by an advanced design housing that meets the highest safety and watertightness requirements.

Functional, the housing of the P'6780 Diver is built in three parts. Housing the dial and the movement, a round steel container with hinged black PVD coating, rocker to fit in a bridge, microbored titanium receptacle with black PVD coating also, which incorporates the rubber strap. The container being anchored in the bridge by two spring loaded pushers, an accidental unlocking is practically excluded. In practice, the container is removed from its housing for making adjustments. Explanation: before immersing himself, the diver sets his dive time on the bidirectional rotating bezel, time that he can read without parallax error via the scale engraved on a flange placed inside. Once the container locked in the bridge, the rotating bezel and crown, moved to 12 hours for the sake of protection, are insured against any damage and involuntary movement.

Benefiting from an ingenious seal system, the P'6780 Diver withstands a pressure of 100 atmospheres (1,000 meters) without a screw-down crown or additional helium valve to compensate for pressure. It should be noted that the rotating elements, in other words the bezel and the winding crown, have been sealed using "simmerings", in other words, annular seals for axes used in the automobile industry. Miniaturized for watchmaking, this system offers the watch a seal up to 1000 meters without screwed crown! The advantage? If necessary, the mechanical movement of the watch can be reassembled under water.

Featuring a date window at 9 o'clock, the black dial highlights oversized hands, large numbers and baton indexes, which are coated with a white luminescent material to ensure perfect readability in the dark gray of the depths. Only the bright blue curve (color often found in diving equipment), showing the first fifteen minutes on the dive time indicator, produces a color accent. Blue color that is also found on the contours of the broad minute hand.

The P'6780 Diver is powered by the Sellita SW 300 caliber (vs ETA 2892-A2 in the previous version), a self-winding mechanical movement with a 42-hour power reserve. This new diver is dressed in a rubber strap with a special dive extension. This makes it possible to wear the watch over the diving suit without any problem, without first having to open the folding clasp.
