The Ferrari 296 Speciale is the lightweight, radicalized version of the 296 GTB. Unveiled in 2025, it features a plug-in hybrid architecture combining a 120° twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 (700 hp) with a 180 hp electric motor, delivering a combined output of 880 hp to the rear wheels via an 8-speed DCT gearbox. Weighing approximately 60 kg less than the 296 GTB and boasting increased downforce (around 435 kg at 250 km/h, a 20% increase), sharper handling dynamics, and a "Qualify" mode that optimizes electric boost, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds and 0 to 200 km/h in 7.0 seconds, with a top speed exceeding 330 km/h—positioning it as the most extreme production berlinetta in the Ferrari lineup.
