The Ferrari 512 S No. 8 was one of four factory cars entered by Scuderia Ferrari in the 1970 24 Hours of Le Mans, driven by Arturo Merzario and Clay Regazzoni. After qualifying fourth with a time of 3:21.3, the team started the race with high hopes of challenging the Porsche 917s. However, their race ended after 38 laps and approximately four hours due to an accident—part of a particularly grueling event marked by rain and numerous retirements. This car (No. 8, chassis 1034) embodies Ferrari’s ambition to counter Porsche with its 5.0-liter V12-powered prototype, even though no factory 512 S made it to the finish line at Le Mans that year.

This 1:18 scale WERK83 model faithfully reproduces the Scuderia Ferrari 512 S No. 8 driven by Arturo Merzario and Clay Regazzoni at the 1970 24 Hours of Le Mans. Crafted from resin, it captures the prototype’s red bodywork, its "Long Tail" configuration designed for the Mulsanne Straight, racing wheels, S.E.F.A.C. markings, and period-correct race number. The open cockpit, faired-in headlights, and aerodynamic details are meticulously painted and tampo-printed to recreate the authentic look of early 1970s Ferrari sports prototypes.
