Unveiled in September 2025, the Ferrari 849 Testarossa succeeds the SF90 Stradale, reviving an iconic name from Maranello in a decidedly contemporary interpretation. This plug-in hybrid berlinetta combines a mid-rear-mounted 3,990 cc twin-turbo V8 engine—producing 830 hp—with three electric motors delivering an additional 220 hp. The combined power output reaches 1,050 hp, transmitted to all four wheels via an eight-speed dual-clutch F1 transmission.
Equipped with a 7.45 kWh lithium-ion battery, it offers an electric range of up to 25 km, while its performance figures place the 849 among the most extreme road-going Ferraris: 0 to 100 km/h in 2.3 seconds, 0 to 200 km/h in 6.35 seconds, and a top speed exceeding 330 km/h.
Its active aerodynamics, large side ducts, and design inspired by racing prototypes provide the downforce needed to handle this level of power. The name Testarossa—literally "red head"—refers to the red cylinder-head covers found on historic Ferrari race cars and, above all, pays homage to the iconic road car sold between 1984 and 1996.
