Abstract :

Jim Clark, born in Scotland in 1936, was the all-round driver of the 1960s. He became world champion in 1963 and 1965 and won a total of 25 Grand Prix races. With his humble yet open-minded nature, he was an excellent ambassador for his country and his sport.

The portrait photographer Dr. Benno Müller had a very special relationship with Jim Clark. He already witnessed how the young Scotsman caused a sensation for the first time in Germany on the Solitude in 1960. He was also there on the dreary April 7, 1968, when Clark started at the Hockenheimring for the last time. In the intervening years, Dr. Benno Müller became Jim Clark's favorite photographer, while the Scotsman became the country doctor's favorite motif.
