Born in Stuttgart, Erich Strenger (1 December 1922 - 17 Feb 1993) worked as a graphic designer for Porsche from 1951 until his retirement in 1987. Art and photography Student at the Art Academy of Stuttgart, after his military service during the Second World war and four years in a Russian prison, he returned to Stuttgart where he met von Frankenburg for which he began designing posters and brochures. Finally, Von Hanstein asked him to produce posters celebrating each victory of the Porsche team. Although his photo-montages and watercolors illustrate typical Porsche cars that no purchaser could ever get, they participated brilliantly to the high performance and quality image of Porsche.
