Abstract :
The story of the Spider's genesis and its four successive series is told with precision by Julien Lombard.
The most produced convertible in the history of the brand, it was also the Alfa Romeo with the longest career: some 28 years. Another singularity that is the subject of an entire chapter is that the Spider's style began to take shape ten years before its launch and six years before the birth of the Giulia family.
Based on an impressively rich iconography, made up of period documents but also drawings of the different versions specially made by Piero Stroppa, ex-Bertone and Pininfarina, the book calls on numerous testimonies from former owners, starting with that of the designer Aldo Brovarone, "father" of the Spider. It is destined to be a landmark.
The 260-page book includes nearly 570 photos and illustrations.
