The Story – Clay Regazzoni
An iconic Swiss Formula 1 driver of the 1970s, Clay Regazzoni won 5 Grands Prix, 4 of them for Scuderia Ferrari, with whom he was runner-up in the 1974 World Championship. He also gave the Williams team its first victory in 1979 at the British Grand Prix. Clay Regazzoni is one of only three Swiss drivers, along with Jo Siffert and Emmanuel de Graffenried, to have won a Formula 1 race. His Formula 1 career ended in 1980 following a serious accident at the United States Grand Prix, which left him paraplegic.
