At the 1967 24h LeMans, the two CD SP 66 cars were entered under numbers 52 and 53. This model, fitted with an engine prepared by ‘Le Moteur Moderne’, developed around 110 bhp, an improvement of almost 10 bhp on the previous version. This enabled it to increase its top speed from 240 km/h in 1966 to 245 km/h in 1967.Drivers Denis Dayan and Claude Ballot-Léna, at the wheel of the distinctive CD SP 66 no. 52, started from 48th on the grid for the French S.E.C. Automobiles C.D. team. Unfortunately, after the start of the race, the #52 was only able to complete 20 laps before overheating due to a problem with the cooling system.
