A major figure of the satirical newspapers " Hara-kiri ", " l'enragé " and " Charlie Hebdo ", the cartoonist Georges Wolinski, one of the victims of the attacks on January 7, 2015 in Paris, marked his way the long line of 24 Hours of Le Mans " Art Cars " in 1998.
The famous French designer decorated the Porsche 911 GT2 of the swiss team Haberthur for its participation to the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1998, with the French pilots Jean-Luc Maury-Laribière, Eric Graham and Hervé Poulain.
The latter, renowned auctioneer, had indeed chosen Georges Wolinski to extend the list of internationally renowned artists who decorated the various " Art Cars " that he drove at Le Mans. So, the author of " Gaston la bite " and " Le roi des cons " - to name just two of its most popular works - ended up on a list that, no less, includes Alexander Calder, Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, Arman and César, all great names in contemporary art.
